George Glenn Shinault is from St. Louis,
Missouri, where he studied the Tenor
Saxophone from a musician well known in
the area named Ace Coleman. A few years
later George started playing and singing
with a well known group called “Bennie
Smith and the Playboys”. The group
performed at exclusive prominent night
clubs in the St. Louis Missouri area. This
was extremely hard to do in the early 1960
for any band to accomplish let alone the
Playboys. Although George still enjoys
playing the Saxophone and Singing, his
passion and experience on the business and
public relations side of music has been
more rewarding.
George was drafted in the U.S. Navy in 1964
and was stationed at Pearl Harbor in
Hawaii. Six months later he was transferred
to Vietnam and Japan. While serving in the
U.S. Navy, he organized other military
musicians and created a band that
performed in and around Japan. After the
war George continued to perform music
locally here in San Diego. In 1972, George
left San Diego to visit relatives in Brinkley,
Arkansas. While there his brother, Anthony
Shinault was performing with a well known
group known as the “The Isaac Hayes
Movement”.
George was introduce to the group and was
immediately hired as Assistant Public
Relations Manager. George worked with
The Isaac Hayes Movement for several
years. With his extensive knowledge in the
music business George has learned, both
from a musician and a business stand point
what it takes to have a successful and
committed group of entertainers that will
deliver an outstanding performance and an
unforgettable experience to an audience.
